Hi! I saw the topic and had to write!

I've been vegan for a year, and was lacto-ovo vegetarian for a year before that.

Here's something that I'd like to know...What food/s do you still crave? I know with me it's not necessarily a food, but I miss the convenience of being able to go out and get a bite to eat. I wish society were more tuned to our passive (as opposed to violent) lifestyle. I guess though, I miss cheese. Although tofutti makes an excellent casein free american that works great for grilled cheese sandwiches. I also miss dipping my artichoke leaves in lemon butter (it's hard to make my margarine melt the same way!).

I'd like to know what others think!!

Thanks guys!

What do vegans eat to get enough protein? If you are eating soy based products, you may want to take a look at this link and all of the referenced articles. Alan S.

Just for the record, and for all those people who think "vegans just can't get enough protein!!"...

I read somewhere that 6 oz of tofu has as much protein as 3 whole eggs, and has 0 cholestoral (sp). so there! And by the way, just because nobody asks non-vegetarians if they get enough of their vitamins doesn't mean that they are getting them. I'm much healthier than my family who are all carnivores!!!

Peace!!
