Has anyone ever been hypnotized to lose weight? I was recently, and am just wondering how it will work,,,if at all! I was in a group setting to begin with, but am now listening to their tapes twice a day. I am only on my third day. It is called the Newlife Clinics Hypnotherapy. I have tried many diets, but I just don't have the will power. I thought this method may help me where others have failed. Any input is much appreciated. Thanks, Gail

Hi Gail -

So your other diets failed because you "dont have the will power".... You are obviously motivated to loose weight so I am sure you will....
No matter what you do, "will power" will still be needed to keep yourself from gaining any lost weight back again. So you might as well start with "will power" to loose the weight...

The real trick in "dieting" is to find healthy substitutes that will satisfy your hunger, yet not cause you to gain weight....
I get "stuffed" every day, but gain no weight. I am not really one who exercises a lot (nothing wrong with that, though). It's just I eat the "right things".....or rather, I dont eat the "wrong things".
Number One Rule is to get on the scale EVERY morning at the same time, no matter how much you may have eaten the night before.
AND, count your calories .....!!!!!
Good Luck :) :) :)

Hypnosis is VERY good for behavior control. Once you've identified your particular weaknesses, like snacking all night or never being able to leave anything on your plate, or eating out of habit instead of hunger, or getting too little exercise: hypnosis can help you change that behavior.

It's best is personalized to work for YOU! Self hypnosis works too and is easily learned and a HUGE amount cheaper!

The first step though is to identify your problem areas and try to discover WHY you gained weight!

I have used a hypnotherapy CD for some months now and I have been very impressed with the effect it has had on me. You play it whilst you are asleep and I find I wake up wanting to make much healthier decisions.

It is very much aimed at slimming, it was developed by a therapist called Deborah Kerslake and is called Get Slim While You Sleep. Nevertheless it stopped me smoking, not one cigarette since I did the program and almost stopped me drinking, had to fight hard on that one!

I totally agree that will power is essential but this does help. I understand it works because it "re-programmes" the subconscious to work with you when you want to lose weight, not against you.

Any comments on that?

The Happy Man---What kind of foods do you eat that stuff you but you don't gain weight? I get frustrated too because I find that veggies don't always fill me up and I don't like fruit much. Sometime, I munch on nuts but I usually end up eating too many.
