Are you absolutely certain it is viral and not bacterial? They may be just doing it as a procaution and nothing else.or she may have some other type of secondary infection that IS more contagious.I hope she is better soon.FB

If at all possible, be there when the docs show up so you can ask them just exactly what the deal is.If you are not actually there, is there a family member like her mom or dad that you could speak to in order to get a better description of just what IS going on there?FB

sigh.. i dont talk to her parents, i hate them and if i did talk to them, it would be to yell at them about how they treated her when she was little. she was released the day after i posted this but confined to home for 3 weeks. thanks for replying to it.

I'm a survivor of meningitis myself. The reason they have her in isolation is to protect her, due to the fact that she's very sick and very vulnerable to illness right now, as well as protect others. Meningitis, as you know, is a very serious condition that requires lots of special attention. Hope she recovers well, and congratulations on your engagement.

ahh ok, i didnt think of them putting her in isolation to keep her from catching something else.. sigh.. that was actually the reason i was panicking so badly, because i knew if she stayed in the hospital any length of time she *WOULD* even without having meningitis her immune system isnt the best and catches nearly everything that comes along.. unfortunately during the day and night she was their she caught a strep type a infection :( thankfully it wasnt worse.
thanks
