Does anyone know how long it takes for the vertical belly line to fad?
I had my baby three weeks ago and it hasn't changed at all yet. This
line isn't permanent - is it?

Not usually permanent, but mine fades gradually, and isn't gone completely for almost 6 months! Crazy, huh?

I have TWO lines. One going up and one down. I look like I was cut open even though it's just brown.

SIX MONTHS - I hope it doesn't take that long to go away. Inside my belly button is really dark too. I'm going to Cancun in January and I was hoping to wear a 2 pc. bathing suit. My breasts are back to normal (I'm not breastfeeding) but the rest of my body is frightening. I still won't let my b/f see me naked. I hope my bikini days aren't over.

I'm almost 5 months post pardum and I still have my line. I think it took 6-7 months with my son for it to go away. The inside of my belly button also became very dark.

They may stay a bit darker, but most of it will lighten up with time. With both of mine not only did I get the dark belly line, belly button and dark area on my breasts, but my armpits turned dark as well...strange huh? But the armpit stuff went away a few weeks after baby came.
my line showed up a week before i gave birth and was gone in about 4 months. my belly button never got dark though.
