Has anyone heard of or tried detoxing their body and cleaning their systems out,If so what is it and how do you do it,besides fasting .I am curious if it does work in removing toxins and waste from your liver and so on.I heard Jim carrey say he does it a couple times a year.

The only method to completely detox the complete body is fasting. I did three fasts many years ago at a health resort in Florida. It was a one week water fast. I was stunned at the amount of toxins which were eliminated. However, one week won't remove all the toxins. You need at least three weeks which would be unbearable for most. Anyway, I did a one week fast three years in a row. At the end of each fast, I felt incredible. I'm thinking about doing another one this winter.

To detox the liver, I use a mild liver flush: juice from one lemon, aloe vera herbal detoxifying formula (4 oz), liquid milk thistle (about 60 drops), olive oil, garlic extract (1/2 tablespoon). Do this for 7 days each month. It works. It brought down my ALT & AST levels.

I'm well aware of Hulda Clark and all the other cleansing products on the market. Once again, the ONLY effective method of removing poisons and toxins from the entire body is a FAST. I've done a lot of research in this area and there are no short cuts. It's water, water and more water. Most people look for short cuts since they can't bear the thought of not eating for a week or more. Don't let anyone convience you that fasting is dangerous. What's dangerous is keeping poisons and toxins inside your body which create health problems which doctors like treating since this is how they earn there living. All these so called cleansing products are ineffective. An all natural water fast is what works. I know since I've been through three and what came out of my body was awesome. This won't happen with cleansing products. I'm going for the 4th Fast this Winter at a Health Spa in Florida.

I have a couple questions for ya.How do you know what comes out of your body when you did this???Also how do you have the energy to even get up in the morning I mean not eating for over a week that has to give you severe headaches and just no energy to do anything except think of food.Do you lose weight?

I would be interested in a fast as well, but like savannastar said, I have tried not eating for a day and I get really bad headaches, stomach pains, I feel faint and get really grouchy. If I didn't have to work and go to school I could probably handle it, but I don't know if I could while having things to do that require full mind and body alertness. Any tricks to it, I mean avoiding the side effects of not eating? Controversy aside, I just feel like crap if I don't eat. How did you do it?

I just started detoxing using a product called Cleanse Smart by Renew Life. It was highly recommended tp me from someone who has been studying this for a while.

Well for those of you who get faint, dizzy and have stomach pains... you might want to try a juice fast. A juice fast requires plenty of water, tea, lemon w/ water, and fresh, raw juices (vegetable and fruit). Otherwise, if going on a water fast, make sure to drink plenty of water... adding lemon will help curb your appetite. Drinking tea will help as well. Also, once you get past the initial hunger.. it gets alot easier. Your body eventually lays off the signals a bit, when it realizes it's not getting food. If you are going on a juice fast... beware... the fast will be even harder than a water fast, because the sugar in the juices will only make you hungrier...

Most peopel do it on a day(s) when they don't have to function. I've never done one, but am thinking about it--maybe not a week though!
