An acquaintance landed in the hospital the other day after a metabolife induced seizure. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif ------------------ Copper Let Miracles Replace all Grievances TrickyDick 01-15-2001, 08:52 PM This is a dangerous pill, it contains ephedrine which can cause lasting adverse health problems. That is not just my opinion, but most medical doctors also. L 01-24-2001, 08:15 AM I have tried metabolife. I went through about two bottles of it. At first it made me so disoriented that I was only able to take half a pill. Then gradually, I began to be able to tolerate more. It makes you very thirsty so you have to drink tons of water, and I mean tons. Then you are going to the bathroom every five minutes. It also was hard for me to concentrate on things during the day and forget it if I had a cup of coffee. On top of all that, I never lost one single pound. So....in my opinion, all it did was make me sick. Then after I stopped taking them, my system was so messed up I started gaining more weight. It took me six months to get back to normal. It was like everything I ate turned immediately to fat or something. It is not that way now. I don't particularly know why it reacted this way for me. You also have to be careful if you take any perscription drugs because there could be an adverse reaction with them. There is also a lawsuit pending with them. I got something in the mail about it to see if I wanted to participate in the lawsuit. I did not read all the details, but that should be a red flag for you. I have recently been trying a new drink mix called metabolift that is supposed to be a protien drink. I have been using it for a meal replacement or if I get a craving. All it is (I think) is protien so that it speeds up your metabolism. It doesn't appear to have any appetite surpressents or anything in it. Hope this helps. jmd 01-25-2001, 11:29 AM Hi, I've been taking the GNC varient of this I think it is called Metabolite or some thing like that. The bottle says you can take up to 6 pills per day. At the most I take 2 in the morning. This pill is ephedrin/caffine based. The fist time I took a single pill I was jittery and wired for about 18 hrs. I have noticed that when I excersize I can get a bit of a racing heart, so I try and avoid taking these pills the same days I go to the gym. For me they worked, I have lost 35lbs and my bloodpressure/cholesteral have remained fine. I also mix these pills with a lot of caffine (coffee addiction). However, I would NOT recomend you take these. They are dangerous. ------------------ Danzjeepn 01-25-2001, 05:37 PM Forget metabo - anything. Try an ECA stack (ephidrine, Caffein, Aspirin) or adipokinetix or the new lipokinetix. These are what pro bodybuilders use. Starbuck 02-16-2001, 12:30 PM I agree with Danzjeepn. I creat my own thermogenics, and I'm working on two new formulas. Metabojunk is an inferior, over-priced product whose glory days are over. Adipokenetix is by far better, more efficient, and cheaper. However; the FDA idiots pulled the plug on Nor-ephedrine/PPA, when they should be pulling prescription drugs instead. But, they are led around by the nose by the powerful pharmaceutical lobbyists. PPA is safer, and more effective than ephedrine. I'm sure you will see it pop up in a year or so from a pharm giant as a prescription weight-loss drug, at about 2000% markup. The FDA is behind in the latest weight management technology. They don't like it when dietary supplement are effective, or better yet, big brother Pharmaceutical. Do some research, it's all out on the net for the taking. Get on Medline and research the safety record of ephedrine. Mr. Moderator, Stop slamming ephedrine. Obviously you need to do some more reading on the subject. Everything in moderation. I'm on Stacker2 right now, and I don't feel a thing. Peace! |
