Hello...
Im 17 and weight only 61kg (136lbs) and i really need to gain weight because i want to become a member of the police force when i finish school and there is a weight requirement and im under by about 1 to 1 1/2 stone. I've been taking protien shakes for about 2 months and managing to gain about 1 kg which is not good. I've tried eating more but i still dont seem to be able to gain weight.
Any suggestions?

Hello Mr. Jackrabbit Metabolism:

If you want to gain weight, you should consider the following:
1. Start lifting heavy weights.(Heavy for you). Consistently doing the basic movements; squats, bench, overhead presses.
2. Stay away from any sort of cardiovascular workouts. (This just stalls your progress)
3. Start eating a 3000-3500 calorie daily diet. Add 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil to each of your protein shakes.
4. Eat more carbohydrates with your protein. Eat calorie dense food. Drink lots of 2% milk.
5. Start supplementing creatine into your diet regimen.

These should help, if you work hard in the gym and eat a decently high calorie diet.. your body will have no choice but to add mass.

*Don't just eat lots more junkfood though, use your common sense. Just eat larger portions of good things.
