I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good weight loss plans. I know there are SO many out there these days. I want something healthy, but that I'll see results fairly quickly also so I don't give up too easily. I want to lose about 70 lbs (realistically. Ideally, about 90lbs). I know what I should do, and what I should and should not eat, but I don't have the power to do it on my own. I need a plan to follow...one with real, everyday foods. I'm thinking about joining Weight Watchers...probably the best bet for me right now, but I don't know what else out there might work for me too. I've also heard of something called Herbal Magic that worked/works really well for a friend of mine, but just how expensive is it to start up? I don't know...might just be a Canadian/Ontario thing....
Any help/advice/info would be appreciated :)

Use a dietitian. There are several good ones that are accessible on the internet. Don't fool yourself with all the quick fix diets no matter how good it feels to take it off quickly. Do the hard work and learn to keep your weight off forever.

I'll tell you what diet I've been doing for about two months. I have been eating those Weight Watchers meals, Lean Cuisine, and all those other low calorie meals that are really delicious. I love them, and the best part about it is I went from a size 9/10 (145 lbs.) to a size 7/8 (137 lbs.) in just two months! I still have a lot more weight to lose but I'm doing it sensibly and healthy, and I work out about 30-35 minutes a day. I recently started using one of those ab roller things, and already I can tell a slight difference. As long as you eat right and exercise, you should have absolutely no problem losing weight!! Good Luck!

Oh, I WISH I were back to a 9/10 :) Suffice it to say right now I'm somewhere in the range of 200lbs, about a size 18, and am only 5ft4 and 30 yrs old. Now granted, most of the weight I've gained over the last while has been due to 2 pregnancies, and then a bit extra in between kids. I gained the most the first time, but seeing as my first is 8 1/2 now, I haven't been able to use the baby excuse in over 5 years. My younger one is 6 months, and I figure I've got to get started losing the weight now, or else I'm just never going to get rid of it, and I can't stand the fact that I'm anywhere near 200 lbs. My ideal weight would be 130ish, but my realistic is more like 150lbs. Fortunately, I don't look as big as I actually am, but at this weight and height...it's still not a good thing. I do walk at least three times a week....five times a week when it's not too cold and no snow or ice. I try and keep up with the Lean Cuisine thing actually because that's one of the best ways for me to go. It's healthy and good for me. Just keeping up with it, and of course, finding a way to calm down my sweet tooth. When I get boredom munchies I tend towards chocolate, which doesn't help any either. I think in the long run I'll probably wind up doing the Weight Watchers thing. It's not overly expensive I don't think, and it means some kind of commitment, so I'll stick to it a bit better probably. Thanks for the input though :) It's nice to know there are people out there that sound like they know what I'm going through. I KNOW what I should eat, and how much, but...I just need help doing it. Lean Cuisine works because it's a normal size meal of healthy food. It's not junk, and it's not monster portions.
