UPDATE ABOUT MY DENTAL IMPLANTS.

I GOT MY TEMPORARY LOWER DENTURE July 21 st and I have already had three adjustments done in less than a week. I have been having a very difficult time with this lower denture. I also feel a great deal of denture slipping, when trying to chew.
Before calling the doctor and making my third appointment, I spent the night crying and feeling depressed. I got up the next morning with a headache. Called the prosthodontist and there were three areas where pressure was relieved.

I still need to apply adhesive to the lower denture and the Prosthodontist does not want to do a soft reline at this time. He gave me a reason but I don’t remember.

He also said I need to call anytime if I am having pain or concerns or problems.

Well, this morning I was able to get the lower denture in my mouth but I still need the adhesive to keep it in place. I still have a pressure sore on the right side so, I guess I need to make another appointment.

I thought I was educated well prior to starting this dental treatment and I would not hesitate for one moment and not have this done. I just thought everything would fit well during the interim period.

I am also scheduled to start the prep work for crowns on my upper front teeth the end of next week

Oh, the implants are doing well. I was told the uncovering would be done sometime in October. I am thinking probably November. Learning not to believe everything I am told.I am still Trying to stay focussed on the end result. (Perfect smile)

It is raining today so I think I will download some relaxing music for my upcoming visit next week. I have a four hours visit planned for the prep crown work.

Thanks for listening.

I just needed to vent

Hope everything is going well for all.

Sorry I am not too Implant knowledged but what's the bit of uncovering them, you mean you can't just get them put in, heal, and then have teeth? Sorry just curious because one day I'll be getting them and I am just confused:) LOL
Sorry to hear about all your troubles but remember like you say the outcome is soooooo worth it! :)

Thanks
Chatty

I had six implants placed and I need to wait at least three months for bone integration to take place and complete healing to occur. After three month, I will see the oral surgeon and he will make a small incision on the top of my gums, exposed the implants and place a healing cap or post on the implants. I was told by the Prosthodotist after this phase is done I can have the non removal teeth.

Meanwhile the Prosthodotist will start working on my front teeth; they need re-capping and a precision bridge. The front teeth will get crowns and the coloring will all matched. Eventually.

The problem I am having now is the lower denture feels secure with the adhesive until I try to eat (soft foods) then it moves .i am only chewing on side one the other because I am trying to avoid placing pressure on the implants. It is the movement that is bothersome. I know I don’t have lower bone support but this may be a very long three months.

The Prosthodotist did mentioned doing a soft reline so this may help.

Thanks again for listening, any suggestions is welcome.

Hi NOSMILEYET,

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with your temporary. Hope things
get better very soon. It looks like I'm following the same path as you. I had
implants placed on the lower jaw about 16 day ago. I'll get a lower temp in a
few weeks and then start the process of having crowns placed on the upper teeth.
Anyway, I hope you're having fewer problems shortly.

Steve.
