I had a triple bypass Sept 9, 2003 and am doing pretty good. But I have one problem, exercise. When I walk my lower back and legs kill me. They hurt so bad that I give up my attempt on going any futher. My lower back has hurt since the surgery and really gets aggravated will standing for any period of time or walking. Has anyone else experienced this and will if get better if I force myself to go a little bit futher? Another thing is breathing. Ok I smoked 1 1/2 packs a day for about 10 years. I could walk 2 miles in an hour with a cigarette in my hand. Now my lungs get a full feeling while attempting a good walk. Breathing has been a chore since the surgery also. I hope all of this gets better. I don't want another surgery. Mama Kay

P.S. I quit smoking. Not another puff since surgery.

Hello Marmak,
You really need to see a doctor, and maybe specialists, to diagnose and treat your problems. Perhaps you have access to a Rehabilitation centre. I cannot give you any professional advise about exercising, except that it is necessary. If you have problems walking, an exercise bike may help quite a bit. However, I think you need professional advise on your various problems and how to devise a suitable exercise programme. All the best.
