I've tried all of the diets and I've got the sagging book shelves to prove it. I'm tired of reading what people have written to the "masses" and I want someone to help ME. I want a nutritionist or weight loss doctor.
Anyone have any suggestions for me in the Birmingham, AL area? Thanks in advance! :)

Stephanie:
I'm in Birmingham but I did WW so am not aware of any clinics or nutritionists that are doing fabulous things. If WW or one of the other commercial ventures isn't for you, have you asked your doctor for a suggestion? While they all work, the thing is YOU. You have to be the one to do the work...and when I finally accepted that, everything fell into place.
Good luck!

Thanks Titchou, you are correct about it all falling into place when I do the work. I've lost 78 lbs on Atkins and before that I lost 24 on WW. I have been able to lose on various diet plans, but then I get to a point where I find myself troubleshooting and things aren't working as before-- a plateau I guess. This is the point I'm in now and I desperately want someone to talk to that understands ME. A coach I guess. I have insurance so I thought a doctor specializing in weight management might be the route I should take.
Again, thanks for your advice. :)

Have you tried LA Weight Loss? I've had several friends do well on that. They liked having a one on one meeting each week...personally, I didn't want to do that so I did WW without ever going to a meeting...jjust wieghed in each week. Everyone is different though. So, if your doctor can't refer you to a coach, clinic, whatever, may the LA program would be a good option?
