Hello,
I had a physical done through my job and the one thing came up high was my GGT result which where 76. Now this was in April and I was not pregnant. I want to the dr. and he re-tested me in July this time I was 10wks pregnant and my results were 137. He also did a liver function test and said that was normal. I kinda of worried since the only thing he told me was to stay away from alcohol. OK I AM PREGNANT! I did have a drink since I found I was pregnant and before that I had want on cruise in April and was drinking alittle then. Even when I'm not pregnant I don't drink everyday in fact I go months without drinking and the only reason I was drinking on the cruise is because it was my honeymoon. I don't know how my results could have gone up so much if I have not drink any alcohol. Could it be possible that it is the pregnancy? Thank in advice for you responses.

My GGT has been 236. I just had a liver resection 15 days ago to remove and FNH tumor (benign) the size of a football. I had my labs done again two days ago and it was 96. I asked what that was about when it was 236 and the dr told me that was common in patients with liver growths. That is about all I know about GGT. Hope it helps but doesn't scare you to death. I started the Focal Nodular Hyperplasia thread, if you want more to read. But I don't know if it would answer your questions. Talk to your doctor about it more. Don't let it go.

Before you had your resection, did they consider your GGT extremely high? My husband just had blood work done and his GGt was 209. We have an appointment with a doc, but we aren't sure if this number is slightly elevated or extremely high. His cholesterol was up also and triglycerides were high. Is all this correlated?

do you have a weight problem normally? i would follow up with a GI doctor or a hepatologist, just to make sure there are no problems.
