To anyone who can advise me of some information;

Cutting to the chase:
I ended up swallowing a large amount of the infection during my sleep.. can this harm me? What are the possible affects of ingesting the infection?

A little more detail; circling the chase:
I've already veiwed many of the other threads and not really seen anything
of this particular situation. I have a common abcess on the front of my
mouth. Pushed my gums out, had my cheecks and chin swelled up like little
golf balls, the pain was not to extreme so I was putting the dentist off until
I my wife's insurance kicked in.. anyway went to the ER to get antibiotics prescribed and I've been taking the Pennicilian (spell that right?) for about
3 days and some of the swelling had gone down but the pain was still there
so had been taking Xstrength Tylenol along with it. Well Saturday evening
after work I came home and went to sleep.. and the kids woke me up first
thing in the morning and when my wife came in she flipped out because my
teeth and gums were covered in what use to be in the swelled bubble, I don't wanna go into extreme detail on that part because you all know what I'm
talking about. And of course.. its Sunday no doctor/dentists offices around
my area are open and I dont wanna go back to the ER for him to tell me that there is nothing he can do; but I dont know, maybe he can. I ended up swallowing a large amount of the infection during my sleep.. can this harm me? What are the possible affects of ingesting the infection?

Thanks for any info,

I would definately still get it checked out tomorrow by a dentist, but since you are on penicllin just continue to take that and it shouldn't cause a problem. Its sounds like your abscess ruptured and that is usually a good thing. It can really relieve your pain.

Pen VK is fine, swallowing the infective material will not hurt as long as it dosent upset the belly. Rinse as often as possible with WARM saltwater, warm moist heat applied over the affected arera will help in establishing drainage.
