I would love to have a treadmill but can't affort the pricey one. I only want a treadmill for walking and don't care all those fancy electronics display and extra features. Walmart is running a clearance on Image 10.0 treadmill for $250 now. Does anyone have one of this and provide some real life comment. If you believe the reviews found in the internet, it appears anything less than $1000 is not worth the trouble. but then those reviews sound like infomacial (sp?). I would also conside other treadmill less than $500, any suggestion?

At end of April we purchased a Sportcraft treadmill from Walmart for just under $300.
Like you, I wanted something for walking when the weather is uncooperative.
So far, we have had no problems.

I'd go for it. 10 years ago my mom had health problems, so my dad went to Zellers (Canadian Target/Wal Mart) and bought a treadmill. She still uses it, never had a problem and uses it almost every day. It was around 200 Canadian. I think you'll be fine. Good luck!

I can't say about walmart but we bought ours at sears, we was able to get a 3 year extended, which is a good thing, since the book that came with it didn't show everything and we ended up damaging it the technition didn't get mad because I showed him the book and he said it was stupid for them not to show where all the nuts are and to now advise you on how to move it without breaking the plastic parts and the bolts that held the lid,

with this extended warranty we get once a year total inspection and adjustments and mainteance care, the technition told me the first to go is the tread and it costs 80 dollars for it plus installation, of course I run on mine, if all you want to do it walk a cheapie is probably fine.

Save your money and go outside. Treadmills are a complete waste of money. The world is your treadmill, and it has limitless options(speed, inclines, declines, different surfaces). And as an added bonus, even the options are free. The only thing you have to pay for is the shoes, which you would need for the treadmill anyway.

I do walk outside regularly. THe treadmill will be used mainly during winter time (lot of snow in this area) and after work, if I work late. I agree walking outside is much better, but sometime I just can't do that but still want to exercise.

I agree outdoors is wonderful. But my mother, for example, cannot go outside when there's a high wind or humidity or if it's too cold, because of the stress it puts on her heart. I myself have done severe damage to my knees from running on pavement. The treadmill puts a lot less stress on joints if you plan to run.

My view is, whatever works for someone is what's important. My mother would have never recovered had we not bought a treadmill, and uses it religiously in the winter time. I like gyms. Some people like to run outside. It's all good for health, the important thing is that you enjoy it and will keep doing it. Good luck!

Well, I did it. I bought the Image 15.0Q treadmill from Walmart for $250 on clearnce price (was $400). This basic treadmill is exactly what I need. It has all the basic functions without all the fancy display. The treadmill seem to soldly build, it was heavy at 165 lb. It is a bit noiser than the high price one. I only have it for a week, but I like it so far. Just hope it would least. It only have 90 days warrenty on parts/labor.

Good for you! I'm sure it'll be fine, like I said my mom's was cheaper than that and it's been nearly 10 years. Just maintain it well.

Good luck!
