Has anyone ever had surgery for double vision?

I have double vision which I was told was probably due to childhood crossed eyes and now that I am older the double vision came. I have the double vision when both eyes are open. My eyes do not line up right.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who had the surgery and what the surgery is like and if it helped.

I am thankful to anyone that is familiar with the procedure.

I struggle to control double vision and had crossed eyes as a young kid.
