View Full Version : Prostatitis, PC? I'm worried...

OK, so here's what is going on... I'm a 25 year old male. Just over three weeks ago, during ejaculation, I noticed a slight brownish tinge laced into my semen, as well as a sudden burning sensation at the tip and base of the penis. I was taken aback and a little worried, because this came out of absolutely nowhere. Upon researching, it seemed as if I had a mild case of Prostatitis. My symptoms over the first 2 weeks included:

1) Somewhat hesitant urination start
2) Burning during ejaculation
3) Dribbling urination
4) Some flow interruption during urination
5) Feeling of urine in bladder even though not/ have to keep going even if I just did
6) Weird inner discomfort feeling inbetween scrotum and anus
7) A little bit of pain on lower right side

I have been drinking water like a mad man everyday (and I drank cranberry juice in the first week as well).

By the third week, I have regular urine flow, no hesitation, still some dribbling and a little full bladder feeling with that weird discomfort feeling still present.

I have seen NO discolorization in my semen since the very first and only time.
There has been a reduction in the amount of semen released, however.

I have had NO blood in my urine or stool at any time since this began.
I have had VERY LITTLE burning sensation during urination since the first week or two.

I HAVE noticed the burning feeling just barely lingers from time to time during the day. Sometimes not even noticeable.

I HAVE noticed a tiny bit of back pain on my lower right side, (around where the spine meets the pelvis) but it's in a spot that I have had back pain in before from lifting objects and poor postured sitting. I also just got a new chair for my computer desk (shortly after the first symptoms started), which I spend a lot of time in, and have seen an increase in back discomfort since.

ALSO, The part that really bothers me - I HAVE noticed a bit of swelling or tightness in my upper-inner thighs and groin area JUST in the past few days (probably 3 out of last 5 days). It seems to be just a tick worse on and in my right thigh and groin area, but affects both sides. It seems to really be an issue only after I have been sitting, but I did feel it after being on my feet all day today. If my prostate is enlarged or whatever, and I'm sitting on it for hours and hours, could that already swollen area cut off even more circulation or aggravate the inflamation and create that feeling, or no?

I also must add that I am on the Ampheta for ADD. I used to take Adderall in the past with no problems, but when I recently began taking meds again, I switched to Ampheta (it's cheaper). I was taking 10mg tabs several times a day, and found that wasn't strong enough, and was put on 30mg tabs. I began taking 1 and 1/2 tabs a day, which helped, BUT, 3-4 days after switching to the higher dose, ALL these problems arose. I know that the medication can provide for bad circulation at times. I am going to stop taking it and see if the swelling type symptoms subside. Is it likely that the medication could be involved in causing any of this? Any ideas/suggestions. Does this make any sense?

As I said, I am 25 years old, and have had these symptoms for just 3 or so weeks, but they have been odd. I have NOT had sexual relations with anyone in 2 years and 8 months (sad, I know), but I have masterbated. That being said, I have eliminated the possibility of an STD. I have never had a UTI before (to my knowledge) or anything else that would relate. I figure that it would have to be chronic prostatitis, because I have had only these symptoms, with no acute tendencies, but I've never noticed this is the past. Other than this, I fear it could be cancerous, even though I'm only 25, due to the leg stiffness thing - a major signature of prostate cancer. I believe that my grandfather (on dad's side) may have died from this, but he's the only one in the family I can find with that history.

Any detailed info/experiences you could give me would be greatly appreciated before I go running off to the doctor. I know that I need to go, but I am a little freaked out right now. I would love as many ideas and replies as possible. Thanks all.

It sounds like you really have done your homework on this. Until you have seen your doctor, I don't believe that there is much that those of us who use this board can add. It I were to lay a wager on this however, I would bet that you are exactly correct in the symptoms being caused by your change of meds and computer chair combined with a severe lack of exercize. Please let us know what your doctor finds.

I have some similar symptoms. I'm 24. I've been to the urologist and he can't find anything wrong. So, I'm looking into other things. It's strange though that I have burning and problems urinating, but it's not something that involves the urological system.
