Hi Everyone,
To my lovely, caring, helpful ladies, boy have I missed the "HECK" out of being able to talk to you!!! Also, to the newer people that I have read, the past week or so, HI!
Our computer was "fried" by a lightening storm. It will still play games and such, but no internet and no sound! I have been using an old (9 yr) computer, that used to be one of our daughters and it will not let me talk either! I might try it tonight and give it one more chance. I am at the public library at the moment (30 min. limit) just to say Hi and how much I miss and need to talk to yall!!! I finally found my password - in the middle of a pile (giant) of papers and clippings and such. That is how I am able to talk now.
I will probably bore you guys to tears, with my problems with my father (Alzheimers and Parkinsons + the new Urological problems). But watch out, because I have a lot to say and have some replies to yalls posts!!!
We are waiting til this weekend to buy a new computer. You know, $$$ has to be available. But we have been looking. Oh yeah, our VCR got fried too. We will buy a combination VCR/DVD when we get the $$.
Keep talking girls and I will be listening - it gives me such help! My sister and I are still working on the POA, and possibly getting a little closer. Does anyone know if just my father could get the POA? So far, my mom does not want one, but we are still working on her in different ways. My sister was down and made some progress and will be back in 10 days and maybe we can make it happen???!!! Keep your fingers crossed for me. I may not be able to write back til this weekend, but I can listen, so if any of yall have an answer to the above ?, let me know.
Thanks, and take care of yourselves! Wannabe

Just a quickie, I noticed at my post office today a 'home pack' of Enduring Power of Attorney AND guardianship papers .. it was about $25.00 .. it's the "POA for Dummies" kind of thing ... all the instructions on how to fill it out LEGALLY and everything ... might be worth a look for those who don't know where to start at least.
Dunno if it's available (or it's equivalent) in the States or other countries, but it is in Australia (you can get Will Kits and stuff like that too).
Look forward to hearing from you Wannabe from your new super improved communication PC soon!!
Hugs
Sally

Glad to hear from you, Wannabe, and I hope you'll be able to post again soon. Isn't it great that libraries have that service!

Hello wannabefreetoroam, I'm new here and looking forward to reading your posts. My father had Alzheimer's disease and Parkinsons and he passed away in 2002. I joined in the chat a few weeks ago in hopes of helping others who are caregivers. I hope your computer is up and going soon.
