can anyone suggest good sources of protein? I'm vegan (no dairy/meat/fish/eggs). I find morningstar products to be really delicious, but don't know if soy provides a good amount of protein.
p.s. will sprinkling wheatgerm on foods do me any good?
any advice is appreciated. thanks.

Well since you don't eat meat one of the things you can do is drink protien shakes. You can get them at GNC. Sometimes they don't taste the best so what I will do is add real fruit to them or yogurt and blend it together. They are really good that way.

Twinlab makes a veggie protein, but I've never tasted it so I can't comment on product quality. Other protein powder suppliers make a Rice protein, but it does not taste good.

Hi, since you are vegan, be careful with some of the protein shakes/bars, some of these contain animal protein (i.e., casein).
Legumes and nuts of course are high in protein, especially soy. But you're primary concern is achieving the right combinations of foods (all of which are sources of incomplete protein) in order to get complete protein in your diet. Some combos are beans and rice, lentils and barley, peanut butter and bread.
You don't have to eat complimentary foods at the same time either, as long as you get them through out the day.

Tempeh has relatively more protein than other soy products. It doesn't have much taste of its own, so can be added to other dishes.
