I am 5'7, 145 lbs. I want to lose about 20 pounds for my wedding next July 2002. Any ideas about how I should go about doing this?

I am currently eating for breakfast a bowl of cereal with fruit and skim milk... for lunch, usually a sub from subway...or sometimes I am bad and have a hamburger or pizza slice...for dinner, I usually have a glass of red wine, salad, rice, and grilled chicken. I workout in the morning for 45 minutes on the stairmaster.

I don't seem to be losing anything...what gives?

Try eating 5-6 times during the day spaced out 2-3 hours to speed up your metabolism. It won't make you shed pounds but it will help.

I was in the same boat until I tried low carb diet. I always focused on my fat intake but never paid any attention to carbs when reading the labels. I could not imagine life without bread or pasta. But finally I decided to give it a try and the weight really comes off. Notice that "low fat" and "fat free" products are loaded with carbohydrates for example skim milk.
Give it a try and see if it works for you...
Good luck!

I agree with the other posts-- lifestyle changes are best. However, sometimes you can run short of time. I'm 5'6" and always hover around 118 - 125. Lately, closer to 125, LOL. I got married 2 1/2 years ago in October, and in the months before, blimped up to 132 which, on my small frame, was not good. At the beginning of August, I joined Jenny Craig, and got down to 118 by my wedding day, October 14. Since then, I go up and down. The lowest has been 116, the highest 127. Currently, I'm at 122.
