hello Im new here and glad to have found it . I just wanted to hear some of the stories of how some of you lost weight.People all around me are taking diet pills but I wanted to do it the right way . I also wanted to join this gym but am confused about which one . Is the cardio the main thing in losing weight ? cuz one place is called curves for women(have yall herad of it ) all the machines are in a circle and you do each on efor 30 sec and go around 3 times ,but the only cardio is the step you use in the step areobics. so anyway please do tell ,.

I don't know much about dieting and cardio... :confused
I use diet pills myself (safe ones mind you, no speed), so I can't really advise you on anything. Sorry. Try reading a couple of posts, everyone has a different take on losing weight. You just have to find one that suits you! ;)

Well, if you want to lose weight "the right way" that basically means proper diet and exercise, and not taking diet pills. That's basically what I did to lose weight.

Cardio is the main thing in losing weight but so is resistance training because muscles burn fat, but mainly cardio for half an hour usually 4 days a week. Of course, you can modify this to your own body's capabilities. Cardio burns calories and speeds up your metabolism. It was an important part of losing weight, so starting off I biked for 20 minutes two days a week. Now I bike for 40 minutes 4 days a week and now I incorporate strength training exercises as well.

The main thing about weight loss is the food you eat. I reduced the amount of calories I ate and started eating a lot less fat, tons more vegetables and fruits, not a lot of meat, and taking a daily multi-vitamin. In addition, I stopped eating after 9pm because that was my main problem - eating food before bedtime and not burning it off. Also, I started drinking about 64oz. of water(not diet soda, tea, etc.) a day, which helps you feel full and cleans out your system of toxins that are produced when you're losing weight.

In the begining of March this year I was 175 pounds, and now at the end of July I'm 145 and I'm a 5'6 17 year old male with a large frame. The new healthy lifestyle gave me a lot more energy and I felt my body was "cleaner".

Some of my friends want to lose weight but they don't have the willpower to change how much they eat(portions) or what they eat(burgers, pizza, onion blooms, fries, anything deep fried), but then again, they're teenagers like me and aren't supposed to care, right? Well whatever =P Since I've taken an interest in nutrition and proper diet and exercise at my age, it sets me up for a healthy rest of my life. It's never too late to start. Good luck.

I AGREE ITS NEVER TOO LATE TO START. EATTING RIGHT AND EXERCISING CAN MAKE YOU FEEL WONDERFUL AND TO SOME PEOPLE YOU LOOK WONDERFUL. I LOVE IT. I GET UP IN THE MORNING AT 4:50 A.M. AND POWER WALK FOR AN HOUR, START WORK AT 7 AND TRY TO BIKE AFTER WORK. MOST OF THE TIME I EAT HEALTHY ITS REALLY NOT THAT HARD. I ONLY WISH I WOULD OF DONE IT SOONER. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN UNDER WEIGHT BUT DIDN'T ALWAYS FEEL HEALTHY. NOW I FEEL HEALTHY, AM PROBABLY IN BETTER PHYSICAL SHAPE THAN I EVER HAVE BEEN AND HAVE MORE CONFIDENCE IN MYSELF. NOT ENOUGH BUT MORE. SO GOOD LUCK AND JUST GET OUT THERE AND DO IT.
