I'm posting this question on behalf of a friend of mine: How do you get rid of an itch that always occurs in one single spot every time? She has a place on her back that itches constantly--no lotions, moisturizers, or anything can make it go away! She's constantly itching there. Upon inspecting the itchy spot, the sKin looks perfectly normal. no bumps, red spots, bug bites, rashes, etc. But it drives her nuts--sometimes i catch her scratching it 5 or more times a day. She's miserable! What might be the cause of her chronic itch? Any suggestions for treatment?

I suffered from this problem, but not on the back. The itch was caused by a nerve that didn't get the signal to stop itching. Sort of like being over stimulated. When you itch a spot it released antihistamines and creates more of an itch. She needs to see a doctor and get a proper anti itch med made up. It takes time but eventually the nerve settles down. Not to say that every once in a while it won't flare up, but following the regime again and it will help alot!

Has she been lying on a beach in the south any where recently before this started? It could be a buried bug.

I forgot to ask, has she seen a doctor at all?
