How can you tell what type of hair texture you have? I have heard people say, "I am 2a or 4c/b..." How do you determine all of that? and what does it mean?
Thanks in advance

I have no idea where it's texture.....texture would be fine, medium, course, wirey.....etc
colours on the other hand would be level and colour tone, etc. 2a would be level 2 ash. 4cb would be level 4 copper brown.
But, how those numbers relate to texture, I don't know....but definitely interested in the situation as to how those numbers were presented to you.

There is a book out that helps you determine your texture called Andre Talks Hair by Andre Walker( Oprah Winfrey's stylist). That should help you find your hair type. It should also be available at your public library(assuming you have one). :)

Quincy,
I saw it in the African American long hair website..The women were saying I'm 2a or 2b/c, all types of numbers. My hair isn't the finest, but I don't think it's the worse either.
