A family member has been prescribed Vistaril for Borderline Personality Disorder. Has anyone had any experience with this personally or know of someone that has used it? What was the outcome?

its an antihistamine tranquilliser and fairly mild, generally not very useful for BPD

Interesting and I wish I knew more about that. I have borderline personality disorder as well and I have some Vistaril I have been taking. Wonder if that would help?

Get a different doctor as soon as possible. Vistaril or Hydroxyzine Pamoate is
a very mild sedative and anxyolitic (Anxiety med). Borderline Personality is
a very serious Personality Disorder which needs much therapy. As far as the Vistaril, wrong drug entirely. Just trying to help. You need to have your doctor look into the psychotropic drugs for Borderline Personality. God Bless.

This is an old post but people may want to know I take this med (Hydroxyzine paomate) for itchies. I had no idea it was used for other things such as this. Once more my Doc. prescribed it knowing I take Ambien (generic form) to sleep! which i now have read is not a great combo. Very interesting. I'm glad to have found these boards...even if lots of posts are older.
