I guess there aren't any posters around who've had strab surgery.

How did it go?

I have had the surgery twice...once when I was 14 and then again when I was 21....So yes I remember it.

the first time I had both eyes done, I won't lie it was a bad experience...BUT...I developed severe post-op infections in both eyes....not too fun..we're guessing it's cause I got lax on the 'no shower' rule and got water in my eyes...

Second time I only had my left eye done...and recovery was ALOT easier cause I didn't get an infection....I had adjustable sutures that time...which needless to say...was somewhat painful but the results SOOOOOO much better.

I don't remember the times for the first...but the second they did all four muscles in the eye....and the nurse said it only took about 15 minutes. And I came out of it pretty quick.

rimylove: You just hopped off the operating table and now you have an appointment to hop back on in five weeks and you say that's not soon enough??? Wow. We Canadians who hate socialized medicine would be green with envy. We wait and we wait and we wait.

Anyway, hope you go through with it next time. Good luck.

I dont think is soon enough becuase i go back to school in september. Meaning i will have to miss like 2-3 weeks of school trying to recover. The redness and the eye swelling. God knows the best. I wasnt thinking about that then. I wish i can go back, but i cant. Everything happens for a reason.

Did your doctor say you'd have to be out that long??....barring no complications (Infection for example) the 'hard' recovery only takes about a week.....full recovery 6.
