so i pretty much eat for health and have a question about these studies that chocolate is good for the heart, in moderation of course. so i hear different views about it all the time. things like it should be organic, it should be dark chocolate, and should have 70%> cocoa in it. i have also heard that it has be processed in a certain way to save it nutrients, such as antioxidants. does anyone know what kind of chocolate i should be eating...i never know what brand to buy or where to it from? i have heard that hershey's special dark chocolate doesn't have a high enough % of cocoa in it, but it doens't even have a % on the label? i really believe that cocoa beans have great benefits, i am just not sure what to buy? any ideas? any info will help Thanks!!! Eat well!

Hmm, do you really need to have chocolate if you're just eating it for health? I'm sure there are positive health benefits with chocolate, but I imagine they would be minimal and you could probably find those antioxadants in other foods as well.

Although if you want to have chocolate, eat it for pleasure and stick with dark chocolate as it tends to be more satisfying. Or say "they" say.

The only thing I've heard was on the news several times. That is that dark chocolate like ' Hershey's special dark' is the best one. Has fewer calories than the milk chocolate and more of the good antioxidents. There will naturally be a higher percentage of cocoa in dark chocolate since it has less sugar and milk.

I think, if you gotta cure that sweet tooth with chocolate, the dark is the best way to go. :)

I think thats a good question because you obviously care bout what you eat and you eat to stay healthy but you want to treat yourself too, Hey dont we all! So you were just seeing if there is a healthier method to eating chocolate by looking into it and seeing if there's healthy chocolate. I dont know much about it but I did hear that dark chocolate is better than milk chocolate.

Dark chocolate has definate health benefits, just a small piece has many anti oxidents but it has to be dark chocolate to get the most benefits. In europe they beleive it is very beneficial. Alot of people see chocolate as something that is not allowed so when they have a piece it satisifies a craving I guess. Mabie that is a health benefit as well. I eat a small piece of dark chocolate every other day for the health benefits and if there isn't that many benefits to it after all then I have eased a sweet tooth. I have chocolate instead of a piece of cake or a cookie>

I buy bars of dark chocolate and break them into small pieces. I put the pieces into a ziploc and keep it in the fridge. I take a piece after my meal which is when I really want something sweet.

Organic dark chocolate tastes the best, but did you know Hershey has kisses in dark chocolate? They are in a purple foil wrapper. Check it out!

Try Cacao Nibs, It's a raw organic type chocolate and it's the healthiest you can get..also has a lot of health properties too. I love the stuff! It's wildly delicious especailly as a hot chocolate beverage...

Do cacao nibs make you hyper? When I eat organic dark chocolate I get agitated more and more and it takes several days after I eat it for the anxiety to go away. I seem to be caffeine intolerant and don't drink coffee at all, but I do like my dark chocolate once in a while.

Ghiradelli [sp] chocolate has small individually wrapped bars that are 60% chocolate, that come in a small striped bag they have a very strong chocolate taste, sorta reminds me of unsweetened chocolate bars that you bake with, but these are a little sweeter.

Bija makes an organic chocolate bar with omega 3-6-9 oils. Milk chocolate or dark. They are in the fridge of most health stores. Soft centres and delicious.
