Hi Kid. Pinhole glasses do work, but as far as curing an eye problem (I assume we're talking about myopia), that's another can of beans. The claim for pinholes is: "...excessive accommodation as the cause of acquired myopia. It is clear that anything that can reduce this accommodative effort, including pinhole glasses, is a useful weapon in retaining good vision."
The idea that myopia can be made worse, or lessened through exercise, certain behaviours, etc., is debated. Vision therapy (VT) optometrists say it can, most eye docs say it can't. I'm inclined to think an intensive exercise regime that one perseveres at can probably reduce myopia, or stop it from getting worse, but most people just don't have the time and/or patience to follow such a programme and the worsening myopia often occurs in childhood anyway (and I could be wrong, I'm no expert).
If you want pinholes to see better, go ahead, they can't hurt, they might actually be good for your eyes, but I wouldn't count on solving the underlying problem.

Oh, yeah, I forgot. Pinholes won't work at all for severe myopia, greater than -6.

Ah, yes. I can see why you're looking for a cure. I spoke to a forum poster one time who made her own pinhole glasses. This is something you could do just to try and it won't cost you anything. She used pieces of black rubber. You could use any flexible opaque material I guess. She drilled holes in it at regular intervals and stuck the piece of rubber between her eye and her glasses. It looked odd but did the trick. Perhaps by studying pictures of pinholes online you could determine hole size and spacing.
Have you considered laser surgery for your myopia?

actually i have eye massager that looks like a pin hole glasses, maybe i can wear that instead
nope i don't think i will consider lasik, or any eye operation, cause i have heard of failures that result in permanent blindness, 700 degree short-sighted isn't too bad

Considering the number of lasik procedures done every day, the failure rate is probably quite low. It might be something to consider down the road because they're always improving on the methods.
When you look through your eye massager, can you see better or not?

maybe i will go for the lasik when i am old and senile, i have nothing to lose if the OP fails
right now i am pretty satisfied with contact lens
ya I can see better through the eye massager than without my glasses, but I think I am too lazy to wear it for hours
thanks a lot for your help ^_^

I own pinholes and I can not see well enough with them. Im only -5 which is less than -6 and im seeing 20/150 with the pinholes! Also theres this dragoneye effect which is disorientating. I read that using weaker glasses is just as good so I am wearing -3.25 glasses now :)
As for lasik not everyone is "an ideal candidate" others dont want to pay and dont want to take a risk with surgury. Contacts have their own risks as well and are often not comfortable. Glasses is the safest way to "aid" your vision but it does not "cure" myopia.
I never recalled Bates mentioning staring at the sun. He did say *close* your eyes and move your head back and forth in the general direction of the sun. Let its light and warmth brush your face and eyelids
