Hi guys,
I havent posted here for a very long time I guess, im 17 and a male and for the past 2-4 weeks I've been having alot of symptoms of a stroke. Not only do I have pains in my head randomly everyday that doesnt fit to any descriptions of any other headaches such as migraines, tension but maybe MAYBE cluster, eventhough I never have that swollen eye lid thing. the pain can be this super hot stinging kind of pain, and it feels like it just struck right through my skull, it can be this pinching type of pain where it feels like somebody is pinching on some spot inside my head and its always in the most random places such as the top back of my head, the sides, sometimes deep in the middle and it feels like I've just hit a funny bone or something and it extends to my jaw a bit, Sudden and very very short, except for the pinching pains, they last a tiny bit. Besides that I had too many neurological symptoms to list but not when the pains come though, they come randomly too.
Now my very important question...I dont have ANY stroke risks, well...im just very lazy and sit on my butt most of the day but im underweight, not dangerously though, and tall. I dont eat fats that exceed the daily recommendation and eat some fruits everyday but take multivitamins, i take about 3 bananas a day, I never have apetite for food. Vegetable I very very rarely eat but then again I take the vitamins. SO...I thought I could never have a stroke, but then long ago someone told me that alot people die from clogged up or damaged arteries not because of being overweight but because of inflammation!
Now im wondering, does the inflammation damage them? CAUSED by just any inflammation such as arthritis or from fevers and such? or does it mean that when you are overweight and the acctual artery damage causes inflammation?
Why im asking this is because everyday I KNOW i have inflammations for unknown cause...joints in random fingers hurt and feel hot, certain parts of my muscles feel tottaly on fire and tender, one or two joints hurt (dull kind of pain, feels like its deep between there) overall i feel hot and uncomfortable, I even get these anoying headaches that are caued from the muscles where just moving my head would cause my neck, back of my head inside and my eyes hurt so bady that i feel like throwing up. My forehead is hot, but when i take my temperature its normal or sometimes a teeny tiny bit high, the area around my eyes feels like its flamed up and I constantly touch that area with something cold to try to cool it down as its very uncomfortable. This happens EVERY night only and always at same times, I try to drink alo of water, so much that I get very bloated and stuff and it doesnt seem to go away for a while. Right now, its late, and im having all these symptoms again, this time my most painful area is on my upper left arm but in the middle, not a joint and a part of that area is hot, has a stinging pain and is tender.
So yeah PLEASE help me out and tell me that IF what im having could damage my arteries or blood vessels so badly that i could be at risk for a stroke at 17! I've also had these inflammation attacks for a very very long time now.

I would suggest going to the ER ASAP especially if this has been going on for nealy 4 weeks. They can run some blood tests, etc and see just if you are having a stroke, mi or what is going on. I would not let this go on for much longer with out medical attention.

If your obsessing with the idea that you could have neurological problems, then it could make it worse. Common side effects of anxiety are headaches pains in random places and sweatiness etc.
But, i would agree and just to be on the safe side go ahead and go to the ER so they can do some tests.
Good luck :)

Hello Darkchange,
You mention neurplogical symptoms, but don't describe any, other than the migrating headache which varies in the type of pain you experience.I am not medically qualified, but I think it is unlikely that you are ungergoing a stroke. You should, of course, seek professional help with a persistant headache whatever its nature. The feeling of being hot is not usually associated with stroke.
Inflammation is a very complex subject. Certain inflammatory responses of the body are helpful, and others damaging.Do you smoke? If you want to maintain healthy blood vessels, especially arteries, smoking is especially nasty concerning blood vessels.Regular exercise and avoiding saturated fats is also mandatory, as is avoiding being overweight. You seem very worried about the potential state of your arteries and the consequences. I don't think you are having "inflammatory attacks" that are damaging your arteries, but you are wise in wanting to know how best to keep your arteries in good condition. At your age, you have the opportunity to look after your vascular system over the long term. Even though certain lifestyle changes might be difficult to accomplish, you will never regret looking after yourself. If the headaches persist, you need a diagnosis and possible treatment. If you have ,say, blurred vision or any loss of use in an arm or leg, even if it returns, you need immediate evaluation by professionals. All the best. Keep us posted.
