I can't believe a year has already passed since my THR. 1 year ago today I had the surgery. It doesn't seem that long ago. Right now I was sitting in this "pre-op" area waiting for the orderly to come and get me. It was a strange feeling knowing that any minute I'd be going up. As it turned out, it was a couple of hours. Something got messed up. I think at one point I told the nurse that if they didn't come and get me soon I was going home! I had been sitting there for hours!!

But I've come a long way since that day. Oh I still have some minor issues.....but I'm sooo much better. No arthritis pain in that hip anymore.

I just wanted to share that with all my hippy friends. Lord knows we share everything about our THRs!! ;)

Congratulations Mrs. Linda! ONe year wow! I am a little over 6 months and it's so hard to believe. Amazing not to have that pain...whatever little issues we all still have is nothing compared to the pain before THR...
enjoy the day of your l year anniversary...do something special!!!

Congratulations, Linda! I'm (almost) half-way there, and hoping to be doing as good as you are by the one year mark. You have been very encouraging to me! Anne

MrsLinda, One year has passed!! Does it seem like it went by fast? When you first have THR, it feels like it will take forever to improve. It sounds like you are doing well even with some discomfort. I felt great at one year and each year just got better and better. I hope this happens to you. It's funny, but my THR is so much a part of me now that I don't even think about it anymore as something unusual. I have enjoyed this board so much because reading everyone's experiences brings back many memories and I feel like a beacon showing how a person with THR can get back to a pretty normal life and endure....10yrs and counting. Hopefully, when I see my surgeon in 2 weeks, I will get an ok on my x-rays and checkup. Anyway, Congratulations !!! Talk to you later...balleteach
