Hi all

I am from the UK and need some advice on my hubby. He is in his 30s and for the past few years has suffered from irregular heart beats/noticing them in bed on a night but never done anything about them as he did not feel ill. A few months ago, he had to stop driving because he felt dizzy, flushed and his hands went numb pins and needle like. He gor over it and went to doctor to check it out. They did not do much at all and sent him to rest. He had recently taken up katate and has noticed that his heart pounds/races and he feels a little dizzy and not well. His chest does not hurt but he explained he gets a sinking feeling. When his heart is reacing its soooooo bizzarr. All I can explain is that instead of the lub dub sound you get normally, he gets a lub drip sound that sounds like a water drip you get in a pipe if that makes sense. He does not always have an irregular beat but when it does it can be fast or very slow missing beats. He has been back to the doc and they have done blood tests and ecg which we will get results in the morning. They have told him to stop the excersize immediately until we know what is wrong.

Any ideas ?

Does he take his pulse when it's racing, and if so what is it? Also, have they had him wear a 24 hour Holter monitor, or a 30 day event monitor? Has he had an echocardiogram? Let us know the results of the blood work when you get it.
