View Full Version : chronic cough

2004

I have posted this information on two other sites, General Health, and
Research Board. Everything that has come back is not the cause.
We are hoping that someone will read the material and be able to respond.

My husband has had a dry chronic cough for about 20 years. When we lived
in Phoenix is when i noticed it. He would come home from work, have a drink
then faint, come to shortly but not know who I was or where he was.
This did not happen but maybe once to twice a month. The dr. there ran
test: Vally Fever and more all came back normal.
We then moved to California, the symptoms were gone. Since then we have moved to Texas and you guessed it their back. At first it was once in awhile.
But for the last year it has become daily.
Here is what is happening. He starts to cough does not matter if he is eating,
drinking, walking, stationary, sitting,or sleeping. The cough can be severe or just him clearing his throat, when he will suddenly faint, but he does not always faint sometimes he just becomes weak. He is unable to speak for more than a couple of minutes before his throat dry's and he passes out, unless he gets fluid quickly.
He is disoriented during the episode, has fatigue thru the day, and phelm thru the day.
He has seen specialist like pulmenary, cardio, E.N.T., neurologist, and of course his general doctor. He has had a halter test, MRI, CAT scan, chest x-ray, colonoscogpy, upper GI, bronchoscopy, tilt test, and blood work all come back normal.
Any one out there have any ideas? We are truely at the end of our rope.

thanks.
