Hey there! I have highlighted hair and my hairstylist did me that I need to be using a shampoo MEANT for colored hair or the blonde will get brassy.. and that kinds in drugstores don't work as good as salon ones! She said the Matrix Sleek Look (or whatever it is.. the orange bottle!) kind is good.. and I have the Suave version :) only problem is that it isn't as moisturizing as the one I really like best (Fructis Sleek & Shine), but that one isn't for colored hair! My question is if anyone knows a good product that doesn't cost a fortune.. and ALSO do you know if it is the shampoo that causes the brassiness or both shampoo/conditioner. I would be happy if I could use my same conditioner and only buy a new shampoo.. Let me know! Thanks :)

Name brand products are better for your hair. My stylist said Suave is like using dishsoap to wash your hair and candlewax to condition it. There is a difference between the products as well as the nice smell. You can get good deals on name brands from Trade Secret stores.

Thanks.. Even the Suave Professionals that is supposed to be like the same thing? I used to use name brands like Tigi Bed Head (smelled YUMMY) but unforunately it worked well for a short amount of time and then stopped.. also I used to use Biolage but it wasn't any better for my hair. Any particular brand you recommend that you know costs not too much? I was wanting to try the Dumb Blonde by Tigi Bed Head but I heard it wans't too great.

Hi there, I used the Matrix sleek range in the orange bottle on my highlights and it tends to darken the blonde because of the conditioning. I LOVE Matrixs essential So Silver shampoo . It is a purple colour shampoo which highlights blonde nicely. I use a treatment as a conditoner at each shampoo only on the ends . My hair gets highlighted nearly every 8 weeks and my hair condition is better now then before. To get the sleek look instead of using the shampoos use a straightening iron and serum !!....goodluck debbiep
