I have Sjogren's and have not made one single tear in either eye for the last 7 months. Well today was/is the BIG DAY :) I not only made tears that were able to fill up both eyes but they came out and down my cheek.

Last night the doc. put in the perm. lower plugs in (I had 6 month temps in before). Well, after he put them in I felt some wetness in my eyes and today, I saw my eyes were full of this gloss and when I called my mom (I was at work) to tell her I got so happy that tears started to roll down my cheek!!!!! :D

7 months of Restasis 2xs a day, Methotrexate, Systane Preservitive free 4xs a day and night lubs + all 4 plugs in have finaly paid off and I just started taking Thera Tears Nutrition 4 weeks ago. Now, I just hope and pray they stick around for a long long time!!!

Anyway, I just wanted to share the joy with you all and lt you know there is hope yet!

That's wonderful! I "cried" too the first time my tears came back. But for me, now the problem is the tear quality. I have enough watery tears, just that there is no oil or mucus in them and they don't stick to my eyeball. But I am glad for what I have! I'm very happy for you! In time, your eyes will probably adjust to having the plugs and not make so many tears that they are running down your cheeks. But even if you continue to have a waterfall running down your face, I'm sure you can live with it. :) Good for you!

Goldenwings -

Thanks so much :) I am very happy today!!!

Purple2067 -

Thanks to you as well :) I think the plug are already adjusting because I have alot less wetness in my eyes now then I did this morning. The left eye feels a little dry matter of fact. We will see how it goes as time passes by. As for now I'm happy as can be :) Just in time for my up coming wedding in Sept. :)

Good luck to you with getting the qulity of tear to improve! Is there anything specail your doing to help with that? How did your surgery go?

Thanks. :) Congrats on getting married! I just went to three weddings in July! My best friend got married, and two people that I know from school and work. They were all really nice. July was an expensive month for me though!

Hey, now you will be able to cry at your wedding!

I was doing hot compresses to help with the tear quality, but they were irritating me so I was told to stop them for a while. Other than that, there really is not much you can do.

My tonsil surgery went well, and I am eating semi-solid foods now.
