Hi All
I'll make my story short, any input would be greatly appreciated.
About a year ago i switched my Gp........being treated for HBP....now under control.
Last week my Gp sent me for an echo of the heart.......the tec doing the test was very friendly and told me that my heart would beat 5 times then stop..5 times then stop. I know that a tech should never give out any info to the patient. I did not reveal this to my GP.
My problem is that there are days that i can feel this happening and it seems to make me cough.
The meds i am taking for my BP are....
toprol XL......25mg..........beta blocker
cardizem LA.....90mg.....2x aday
diazide.....
I also take Homosystine vitamin, and omega 3
I am not a person that likes to take medicine....I have reactions and allerigies to many meds.
Before taking these BP medicines i felt fine ( except i had hbp )
Has anyone else experienced these sensations in the chest?
I am going to see a cardiologist.
Could i have an allergy to a BP med?
thanks for listening

No, that's not an allergic reaction. However, beta blockers can cause arrhythmias. A lot of people have perfectly benign skipped beats on a very frequent basis though. Most likely you have nothing to worry about, but do see what the cardiologist says.

Thanks for the fast reply, Timber.
I never new that a beta blocker could cause an arrhythmia, its just one reason why i do not like taking medicine.
I'm always that one in a million that has a problem with meds.
