Hello,

I was wondering whether anyone had any suggestions to help an appeal so that my insurance will pay for my ADR. I have DDD w/herniations at l4-l5 and l5-s1. I had a discogram which showed that l5-s1 was causing the pain. The doc reccommended ADR w/Charte. To date no one has gotten the process approved by Blue Cross Blue Shield. I'm only 22, and I have tried everything else, PT, TENs, Chiro, Epidural injections, facet injections, pain managemnent (no one wants to give me pain meds b/c I'm so young), accupunture, aquatherapy, etc. This is my only hope at some relief and I pray the insurance co. will pay, but it doesn't look good.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Talk to your doctor. I had an off-label procedure and I don't know who ate what but I didn't pay anything.

What do you mean by off-label? Like generic? I'll give that a shot. How did your surgery go? How are you doing? Was it worth it?

Thanks,

Robin

You might have your doctor write a letter to the insurance company, and emphasize that a positive outcome of this procedure would mean less medical costs for you in the future.

I had a 3-level posterolateral fusion with BMP that was placed on sponges that were laid on either side of my spine. This was a year ago and I'm doing great!
