This has long been a debate amongst my friends and I. Some people claim that they will expell their waste in a matter of minutes after they've eaten bad food. I've tried to tell them that it takes at least 2 or 3 hours after they've eaten to pass a bowel movement, or diarrhea in this case. They claim they can tell by examining their diarrhea via sight and smell and tell that it was just what they ate...but I think its what they had for their previous meal that caused that and not the one they just ate. Does anyone know the facts about this??

Hi jlwren,
It takes about 2-3 hrs. for your stomach to empty. Then it still has to go thru the bowel. But, if it is loose or watery, it could possible be that meal, but probably in about half the time. Like maybe 2 hr.? Just guessing.
I do not think, even if your stomach and bowels were totally empty and then you had diahrea, that it would be too fast. like maybe 1 hr. at the fastest?!
Everyone digestive system works differently, so who knows? Did you win the bet?
Take care. Wannabe
