Hello My Dad, age 75, is diabetic and takes insulin shots. He lives with my Mom. He gets up about 3 times at night to use the bathroom. My gosh... how can anyone get a good night's sleep like that? My question... is there something he can do that would help him not get the urge to pee so he can get a full night's sleep without interruption? Thank you.

At his age I would consider a prostate exam. If it is enlarged then that will cause him to get up repeatedly during the night. I think it is probably pretty normal for older men to get up often during the night. I know of a couple who complain about that all the time.

The diabetes shouldn't be causing that unless he has poor control and has very high numbers.
