Thermoslim, Trim Life and Hydroxy Cut are brand names for diet pills that contain ephedrine, caffeine and chromium picolinate. Also known as Ephedra or Ma Huang, it is an herbal extract grown in China and Mongolia. It is an effective short-term weight loss supplement and fat burner. It is often combined with guarana (caffeine) to boost metabolism. The drug has been linked to 800+ incidents, including high blood pressure, severe headaches, heart rate abnormalities, seizures, heart attacks and even death. Ephedra derivatives have also been reported to cause acute hepatitis and other liver problems. Combined with caffeine, the effects are even greater amplified. The FDA recommends taking no more than 8 milligrams a day of ephedrine for no more than 7 consecutive days.

hi 30--
well, if the low-cal approach isn't working for you, and it does not work for a lot of us, try low carb. atkins is not the only version, although i find it very valuable. since you want fast results, you'll find the induction phase pretty effective.
as to exercise, i think any is a plus for your health, but if you want to lose weight, the exercise has to be pretty vigorous. only intense exercise--even if in short bursts--has been shown to raise metabolic rate. Any exercise burns some cals while you're doing it, of course, but intense physical work especially if it involves large muscle groups can boost metabolism for hours, even for the whole day, so the body keeps burning fat long after you're on to the next thing--work, play, sleep, whatever.
the effect is moderate--a one to four percent boost in metabolic rate, for a few hours only--but this counts if continued over time.
don't give up! your health is certainly improving even on those days or weeks that the scales don't budge.

Maybe you are gaining muscle weight... you know, muscle does weigh more that fat... i bet your body will get to a point where the pounds start dropping off. Wait a couple weeks, it'll happen!! Hang in there!!
