Is it normal when your excersizing like running to feel your heart beat when you have stopped? i dont mean excersize as in walking i mean like sprinting strenous things like that. When you feel your heart beat just standing there right after u have stopped is it normal for it be hard and fast? this sounds like a dumb questions but i thought it was always normal and a few people have told me that it doesnt happen to them.

in another words i mean excersize where you are winded and gasping for air like running as fast as you can for 200 meters around the track for example

YES of course it is normal your heart rate will increase when you are doing anything strenuous or excerising etc it has to so that it can pump that blood to all the organs that needs it.I think you are just being to aware of your heart beating.I did this in the past I was like 10 years I used to go swimming alot and at night while trying to sleep all i could feel is my heart like it was pounding on the bed.I heard it beating in my ears too.The only thing that was going on was that I was too aware of it and actualy it was beating fine.
Once I moved on and forgot about it and let my heart just do its job,it didnt bother me anymore.Maybe try doing things to keep youself busy and not think about your heart beat for a while.See what happens, also if you drink sodas or other things with caffiene in them stop for a while .See if these things make a difference.

Yea, thanks for the reply I too think i am WAYY to aware of my heart and what it does. Its like, all the time i feel that there is SOMETHING wrong with my heartbeat.

Its funny though, because about 30 mins ago outta nowhere a voice was saying "just let it do its job" and thats what you just said ! :) wierd huh?

spence,

After a sprint it's normal for your heart to "pound" for several minutes, sometimes even at a slightly FASTER rate than during the sprint. Your system is clearing lactic acid (lactate) from the muscles because of the anaerobic exercise.

It should be MUCH slower after 5 or 10 minutes but it takes a while to go completely normal!
