I was told that i would have to get a conization - then after another Dr. looked, they said that i would just need to have a LOOP...after she did a pap and a biospy - i just got a call that everything was NORMAL?????
This is weird...i'm not sure if there could be some sort of mix-up though they said it seems fine???
Thanks.

If there is anyone who could give me some sort of insight to the reason for this...or if there's someone who's had this happen ---please respond!!
From what i've read, CIN 2/3 needs to be treated. I don't understand how my pap and bio just came back normal/negative? I should be relieved, but i'm worried something is wrong and perhaps she didn't do the pap up far enough and that was where the original pap was taken???
I know a lot of people would love a normal pap - and believe me i was one of them...however, i'm just worried about not being treated for what was originally supposed to be a conization (sp?)
I shared my concerns with the Dr. but she said that "it came back negative so i guess we'll just do a follow-up in Novemeber." She had said that she could see displaysia that she wanted to treat lastime and that she'd do the treatment if she were to see it in November. Is that awhile to wait if there's a false negative - is there such a thing as a false negative? Uh - i'm just confused, any insight would be appreciated.

Thank you for responding....
I'm wondering if anyone else would know about this? How could it be CIN 2/3 and then normal??? It just seems to me that everyone is saying that CIN 2 and 3 needs to be lasered/loop/leep quickly to reduce any risks.
Thanks again to anyone who can offer some insight!

maybe the lab got it wrong and it was really a low 2? Its possible - I had two labs a month apart give a cin 1-2 and then cin 3 . so they sometimes are off.....

Well...here's the deal.
Most gyn's like to treat CIN2-3 because it has a lower chance of regressing than does CIN1. They just don't like to take that chance. BUT there is still a percentage that DO regress without treatment. So YEA FOR YOU!!! :) This is great news! Just be sure to keep going and getting your paps every 3 mo or whatever your doc recommends. :)
