Oh, my! You're awesome. I could never do what you've done in just these past 3 months! That's a lot of weight you've lost--I'm impressed. You work out so faithfully--I can't do that. I just can't do that.

>Last week I gained 2 pounds back and I have no idea >why.

Having said I can't implement the regimen you have to lose the weight you have, I HAVE lost 31 pounds of the 50 pounds I want to lose, and have kept it off for a good 2 years. I lost most of the weight in a 4-month period and then there was the beginning of a levelling off of what could be lost. I believe this is partly due to the body's set point.

Also, I think the body begins to "get used" to a new norm and needs to settle in with it, before getting ready to be pushed to a new level. I have had to get to used to the smaller shape, too. A lot of new clothes and more important, believing in my commitment to remain on a diet for a lifetime. In other words, while I lost the 31 pounds quickly, the hard part is keeping it off--which I feel I am able to do.

Eventually, I will redesign a diet to shed the last 17 pounds.

Your body, even being a little out of whack, can throw a diet out of kilter. Just continue with what you're doing and be satisfied YOU ARE HALF WAY DONE with losing your weight. ENJOY this accomplishment!

>Why am I gaining weight back. Thnx

Don't you think "gaining" is a little extrene to be calling this 2-lb weight increase? If you start to put on weight excessively and quickly, that's gaining. But this is a normal event--especially if you have been sick. But DO be honest with yourself: if you're doing anything remotely different, prior to being sick, then you might actually be fudging the diet and it doesn't take much to tease the body to reacting unfavorably.

You are doing so fabulously--don't go hard on yourself over these 2 pounds. Resume your faithful dieting and exercising and drinking your water and you will return to losing weight. Maybe not as dramatically as the first 30 pounds, but slowly you will lose weight again. Congratulations on your progress! Regards, pat Brown
