Hey, I know exactly where you are coming from. While I was pregant with my last child which was almost two years ago I had gotten a bad boil up under the jawline of my neck. My ob/gyn had never seen anything like this so he kept me on strong antibotics until I had the baby. I had this for about 6 months. At the end it got really big it really scared us because we had never seen a boil before either. So my husband got a needle and popped it all kinds of stuff came like green and even black stuff came out. Small piece of core even came out. So another month went by and finally I went to the dermatalogist (skin specialist) He went in and cut and got the skin tissue off and sent it off to make sure it wasn't a tumor or anything which it came back negative which was great. So that healed up but I still had a pretty big knot still there. It did go down some. So I had to go back to him in like 6 wks so he looked at me again and advise me to go to a dentist even though i wasnt having dental problems. So I went to the dentist and he took some xrays of my mouth and come to find out I had an abcessed wisdow tooth and the infection had drain through my jaw bone and set there and made a puss pocket. Well, I really didnt believe them because I wasn't hurting from my teeth. But, anyways i went and set up an appt with a wisdom tooth specialist and he pulled my wisdom tooth on that same side with the boil. And immediately the boil went down. So now I dont have a boil but I have a round scar from the boil from my husband picking at it. Which now it is kinda faded some so it is not hardly noteciable unless I turn my neck a certain way.

Well good luck with your boil!!!! Let me know if this was helpful please.

I also use the hot rags and the hot heating pad and even a hot iron wrapped up in towels. I have done it all.
