Hi angel:
Were you dehydrated? Did you drink gatorade or other electrolyte solution after your prep? Dehydration could bring down your BP like that. Are you naturally low? The other thing that could lower you like that is bleeding, but obviously you didn't have that at the time of your colonoscopy. Sounds like you are a natural hypotensive and the combo of the prep and drugs during the procedure lowered you further. Thank God for monitors!

Glad to hear everything checked out.

Regards,
CancerDad

Angel:
Were the gastro and anes aware of your Shilling's and neutropenia to begin with? If not, I can imagine that he/she would be surprised by your hypotension! Diet Dews probably don't have the lytes that gatorade or another sports drink would, but I guess the fluid is better than nothing and I guess the caffeine could have acted as a pressor, but also to dehydrate you more and make you more unstable... Most people aren't aware what those preps can do to dehydrate you!

Like I said though, At least you got checked out though and are good for another couple years since you were clear if you don't have the family history.

I say this because I don't want OTHERs considering the procedure to be scared away thinking their pressure will drop out during the procedure.
