Valerie_s 08-13-2005, 11:17 PM that sounds low, do you normally run that low? Lenin 08-14-2005, 09:12 AM pinktulip, I think a trip to the E/R might be a good idea unless you are pretty sure it's a chest wall injury. Chest wall injury usually hurts worst when you try to take a FULL breath or move a certain way. Heart pain doesn't change with breathing or body position. Does your shortness of breath come on with exertion, almost like panting and then go away when you rest a few minutes...that pattern is common to angina. Angina isn't a medical emergency and can wait for a doctor's appointment (soon) but a heart attack IS an emergency. But then there's the element of 3 days to consider... Like I said, if you have insurance, go to the E/R today just to be sure. Take 2 regular aspirin immediately and perhaps 2 every day til you see someone. But remember, it could be a simple case of costochondritis (chest wall inflammation) that will resolve itself. Without insurance, you don't want to confront a $1000 bill if it's just an inflamed rib tendon...quite common. If you have a family doctor, give him a call and tell him the story. |
