I haven't been to the doctor yet, but will be going sometime soon (next week probably). I've had my infection for a year and half of that time I thought it was just a kidney or bladder infection. I use to get a lot of them when I was younger and went to the doctor for them. I would of went to the doctor when I first noticed signs of something else, but I was in and out of cities a lot going to my home town and to go stay with my boyfriend. I searched on the internet all the STD's and BV that it might be. My symptoms are very similar to yeast (white cottage looking discharge, burning, itching, redness, yeast smell, white puss on the outer side of the clit, and goes a little bit away when I'm about to start my period). I don't use BC pills or taken any meds that might of caused it. My boyfriend has the infection also and his relates to yeast too (dry skin flaking off and some redness). I have tried a couple OTC products. The first time I used it I thought it all went away till a week later so I thought maybe that from where I had it so long and bad that it was going to take more than one treatment. I tried a different kind of anti fungal but with no effects but a strong burning reaction. I told my mother about the problem and she had an extra tube of Relgard from when she had yeast for me to try so I did with no effects. My boyfriends mother gave me a pill she had to try (not sure of the name) that was suppose to be strong that I tried in hopes of maybe if I had it some places else in my body also to rid of it. I just had very little to no effects with it. My boyfriend has been trying the meds also that I've used to make sure we both rid ourselves of it. I read somewhere that there are 20% of species of yeast that needs something different than what most yeast meds have in them. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, if they think I might have something else that isn't yeast, and if they do just a pap smear type of test or something more at the doctors?

That SOUNDS like yeast exactly.. my boyfriend got it once from antibiotics, but I luckily did not catch it from him. He had the itchy skin that was red and dry.. and your symptoms sound right too.. yeah going to the doctor will definitely help out bc they will find out what it is for SURE and they can find a medicine that will help you.. just tell that what you have tried already so they know what has not worked for you. Good luck!!

OH! I forgot to tell you.. I hope you aren't having sex right now as well.. b/c if you are then that would explain why the medicines don't work if it did happen to a yeast infection. You all can be both reinfecting each other.. so of course you would need to stop until both of you take medicine to clear it up. It's no fun :( but at least it will get rid of the infection ASAP!!

We held off of sex while taking the medicines and a while after to make sure, but it didn't work. After many calls to try to get a place that would even check me out I have a doctors apointment tomorrow morning. Hopefully everything goes well and it turns out to actually be yeast and not something more serious.

Hi!!!

I had Yeast Infections before. Sounds like you do have a Yeast Infection,
you can get Yeast Infections from too much sugar and antibotics. Also the best thing for Yeast Infections is: medicine and Yogurt. So see a doctor as soon as possible, and eat lots of Yogurt, Yogurt helps get rid of the Yeast.
