I've had stretch marks ever since i started my period, now it's 5 years later and i still have them. They run along my thighs and butt. I'm young and want to look good, is their anything i can do to get rid of them, or reduce the appearance of it?

Cocoa butter (lotion) claims to reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

You can try Strivectin if budget is not an issue. It's expensive, and you have to use it religiously to get results.

you can't "get rid" of stretchmarks unless you have surgery..and sometimes that doesn't work.
to help prevent stretchmarks (possible) use vitamin e, and/or cocoa butter.

The cream my mom uses is supposed to remove stretch marks. It's called: Collagen, by Germa. It was recommended by a friend of ours, she says it really works for strech marks, age spots, and I believe cellulite, and many other uses. Try cheking it out in the internet. I believe they sell it in magazines as well. I'll try finding out where they sell it. It cost us $13.99.

Don't bother buying expensive cremes.
I recently watched some special on tv (don't remember which show).. And they tested all these cremes that claimed to "get rid of" or "reduce" the appearence of certain skin issues, and NONE worked. It's all a scam to get you to waste your money on useless junk.
What you should do is get some cocoa butter and use that. I hear from a lot of people that cocoa butter works well for stretch marks and extremely dry skin...and it's cheap.
I have the same problem you do..stretch marks on my thighs.
I used to have them on my chest too, but those faded so much that they're no longer visible. The ones on my thighs are still there, but they're really white and faded that they're not very noticable.
I never used anything to help reduce the appearence.
So they'll probably fade a lot for you too (if they haven't already), but you can try cocoa butter to help reduce them more.

Hi There, If money isnt an issue i would try Mederma. It is doctor recommended for the fading of scars. It does really work, as i had surgery on my neck which left an nasty scar, i used the Mederma faithfully and now you can barely even see it! I am sure that it would work for stretch marks as well, because if you think about it, stretch marks are really scars!
Good Luck,

I have stretch marks in the butt area and I had them since I started having periods, too.
In the past, I've gone to the dermatologist, used specialized creams and cried when I learned you can not remove them completely.
What you can do, is to use creams for stretch marks and if it works it will make less noticeable by reducing the pinkish color. (mine are white because I had them for long time).
Try to avoid gaining weight and losing it abrubtly.
Good luck!

I've tried ALOT of different things and nothing works. Your skin has streched and there is no fixing it. They will fade to a silvery color but you can't make them disappear. It really sucks because I've had 2 children and my lower tummy is now covered in them. If any body does know of a miracle cream or lotion I would love to know.
