After dicing 5 cups of hot peppers yesterday, my left hand is in terrible pain from a burning sensation - the way your mouth would feel after eating hot peppers. My right hand is fine, since that one held the knife - but my left hand is absolutely killing me. I've tried scrubbing the skin, and I've tried lotion and aloe, but nothing is making the pain go away. Can anyone offer any advice? I was up all night because this is burning my hand so badly. I've learned my lesson & will wear gloves next time, but what can I do meanwhile???

If I remember right, soaking your hand in either milk of magnesia or even just plain milk should help somewhat to neutralize the acids that cause the burning.if this does not work, call your doc and ask if he could Rx you some lidocaine gel, this may help.It comes in a tube and you just rub it well into the skin on your hand like you would with a lotion? That intense burning you are feeling right now is the exact same extreme burn feeling i have in my RSD affected knee.pretty nasty huh?Imagine having this 24/7 all the time every day.it really does suck.I do feel for ya.Try the above suggestions,i hope something helps.at least your burn will eventually go away for ya,wish mine would.FB
