About 2 weeks ago I started having a sore throat. As each day went on it became incresingly sore and I had extreme difficulty swallowng. The pain wes severe yet I did not have any other symptoms of a cold- no runny nose or high fever. About 8 days passed when I thought I might be feeling better but then suddenly the pain went to my neck area under the jaw. It was extremely painful to move my tongue or swallow. When I tried to stick out my tongue the pain was unbearable under my tongue and in my neck area. I saw my Doctor and she said it was just a case of inflamed cartilage in my neck. I never heard of this before and am worried that I might have an infection of some sorts that she misdiagnosed. Anybody ever had anything like this before?
