View Full Version : Question about Subconjunctival hemorrhage

My father has been dealing with some subconjunctival hemorrhage. As I understand it, it is usually nothing to be worried about, except in my father's case, it has been recurring almost on a day to day basis for the past month, and as of yesterday it has been accompanied by persistant itching and light burning. He went to the doctor earlier, who prescribed him some eye drops to constrict the blood vessels in his eyes and stop the bleeding in the eye, and it has done the job so far, except after like 4-6 hours its back, and it's been like that for a month now. Apart from that his doctor hasn't been able to figure it out. He went to a eye specialist who believes it is hypertension.

He does have hypertension, he's borderline diabetic, and does have a family history of high blood pressues, diabetes, and heart problems. And he has been quite stressed the last few years. And he's turned 53 like a month ago.

Can someone help explain what exactly is the problem, and what we should do to deal with it? Thank you very much.

shiva,

Sorry to hear about your Dad's eye problem. You might want to post the question on the "Eye & Vision" board...will probably get quicker response.
