This might be a really stupid question...but here i go anyway... i recently started birth control for my skin about 4 months ago and gained 13lbs which went straight to my *** and chest, and as a result of the weight gain i have horrible stretch marks. I cant beleive it but i do and they look awful... anyway my question is ... Can stretch marks be gotten rid of through diet and exercise, because i got them in like a month, so i was hoping i could get rid of them by losing the weight i gained....i dunno maybe my skin will bounce back. Thanx for any advice.

They most probably will not go away completely, even if you lose weight. Depending on your skin's elasticity, they may fade a little over time. Diet won't help it. Exercise may. You need to use some topical products like Strivectin and you need to use it religiously.

You can try using cream/lotion with alpha-hydroxy acid in it to get rid of the first layers of skin. I used it a few times and it helped tremendously! I've had them for like 10 years from a massive growth spurt and I'm 21 now.

No stretch marks will not "go away" if you lose weight they will still be there b/c they are a part of your skin the moment you see them on you. You can use creams and ointments and gels to get rid of them. I'm african-american so i use cocoa butter lotion b/c it helps tone my skin color so that the stretch marks kind of blend in and are not as visible. I can't afford allthe expensive stretch mark removing creams so that's the ghetto alternative.

The only way to truly get rid of them is through laser treatments, although they are very expensive. I've had two kids and have tried the creams... waste of money for me - the marks fade in color so they are not as obvious, but they don't go away, unfortunately. Good Luck!

Unfortunately, like everyone else said, you can't get rid of stretch marks.
They can just fade. I know when I started growing I got some on my chest and legs...they're still there but they're so white and faded, that they're barely noticable.
I never used any lotions or creams or anything.
Over time they will fade.
But like Biggienomuch said, cocoa butter is really good for that. It will help fade them more.
