View Full Version : can Barret's occur without reflux?

I had fundoplication in April 2005 to fix a hiatus hernia and thought all was fine.
I have now started getting burning sensation again in my lower oesophagus, a barium swallow showed that there is no reflux. Does this mean that Barret's can still occur without reflux?
I have also become anaemic. Does anyone know if the acid supressant medication I took for many years can cause anaemia?
Is there anyone out there who has had a good outcome from fundoplication?
